10-Year Term Life Insurance

If you want to ensure you get a union group-rate for the next ten years, this coverage is for you. The younger you are when you apply, the less you pay. Each birthday that goes by puts you in a new age bracket with higher rates. So, why wait?

Spouse coverage is available. And you can collect benefits while still alive for terminal illness or organ transplant.

BENEFITS AND FEATURES

1. Rates will never increase individually: Your certificate of insurance guarantees in writing, that your rates will not increase for ten full years from the date your insurance begins. Your rates will never increase due to your health or any other individual reason. Rates can only be changed if changed for the Group Master Policy.
2. Insurance protection renewable prior to age 85: Prior to age 70, you will have the opportunity to provide evidence of insurability and renew for another 10-year term with rates based on your age at that time. After age 70, you can renew annually with no medical exam. Rates will be based on your age at that time.
3. Up to $200,000 worth of coverage at group rates: These group rates are not available from Union Labor Life to the general public. The collective power of millions of union members nationwide allows us to offer these benefits.
4. In most cases, no medical exam is required: Acceptance is generally based on your answers to just a few health questions on your application. In cases where a medical exam is required, it will be done at no cost to you and at the time and place you choose.
5. Collect for terminal illness or organ transplant: In addition to death benefits, the policy is flexible enough to allow you access to benefits while you are alive. You can collect up to 50% of the available face amount benefits should you require a heart, lung or liver transplant; OR, you can collect up to 100% additional benefits if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness (may not be available in all states).¹
6. Strike Waiver of Premium: The Group 10-Year Level Term Life Insurance Plan offers a special benefit designed for active union members which pays your premiums for up to a whole year in the event of a union-sanctioned Strike or Labor Dispute lasting 30 or more days (not available in all states).
7. Your Right to Review: You have 30 days from the date you receive your certificate to review it. If you decide you don't want the coverage, all premiums paid will be refunded to you and you'll be under no further obligation.

¹The amount you receive will be reduced by a processing fee of 5% of the amount elected and the benefit you receive may be taxable. Fees vary by state. It is important that you read your certificate to determine what fees may apply to you. You should consult a tax advisor for more information. Your beneficiary will be paid only the remaining life insurance benefit, if any, upon your death.

EXCLUSIONS:

SUICIDE: Suicide is not covered in the first two years of the coverage (not applicable in Washington). In Colorado, Missouri and North Dakota, suicide is not covered in the first year of coverage. In cases of suicide, benefits are limited to a return of premiums paid without interest.
